Chicken Track Jasper Cabochon

Chicken Track Jasper comes from the McDermitt area of the Oregon/Nevada border. It get's it's name from formations on top of the rough rock that resemble chicken tracks and is know for it's scenic landscape imagery. Although this material is called "jasper" it's truly a sandstone. Because of the porous nature of sandstone, Chicken Track Jasper shouldn't be exposed to oils, chemicals or water due to the possibility of it absorbing in the rock and permanently changing its color. 

*These rocks are cut to the best of my ability. Hand cut rocks may contain some irregularities. As a nature made gem, sometimes hidden seams, fractures, pockets and texture may be contained within the rock. I am not responsible for any stone breakage. I never edit my product photos however, some screens may show stone colors different than in person. Pictures are taken outdoors in afternoon lighting. All sales final.
