Kintarsia Cabochon Diamond Accent No.8

Made up of Montana agate, carnelian agate, a river of sterling silver, and set with a lab grown diamond. Stones sit atop a translucent Ochoco agate back that allows the light to pass through the stone while keeping it stable. Cuts are lower dome with higher bezel edges than my usual cuts. Backs are polished. "Medium" size. Coin in photo is for size reference.

Sterling silver does tarnish and stones will occasionally need wiped with polish cloth to keep a high luster. Photographed in outdoor evening light. Stone color appears differently on various screens and lighting situations.

Agates are sourced from generational collections by Sal Digs Montana and Swell. Both stones come from our local regions in Montana and Oregon with the Ochoco agate back being mined by Swell.

This new technique is completely of my own design and has been developed over countless hours. "Kintarsia" uses both theory and practices of intarsia and kintsugi -  seamlessly blending stone and sterling silver into these unique gems. They take an incredible amount of time, resources, and equipment to produce - often taking months to finish one collection.
